Listed below are local community support groups that are provided by NAMI Hunterdon’s partners.
Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) meets weekly on Tuesdays from 6:30 PM-8:00 PM at the Professional Building (52 East Main St. Flemington, NJ 08822) . If attending for the first time, please call 908-806-8202 to confirm that there is no location or time change.
Listed below are helplines that are 24/7/365 and will be answered by an actual person. The NJ helplines will have more updated information about NJ resources. Most websites also offer live chat if you prefer.
NJ Hopeline is a 24/7 peer support helpline with trained specialists that are available for confidential telephone counseling and support. Note: Those outside of New Jersey can contact 800-273-8255 for assistance in their area.
NJ Youth Helpline also known as 2NDFLOOR, is a confidential and anonymous helpline for New Jersey’s youth and young adults (ages 10-24).
VETERANS AND FAMILIES
NJ Vet2Vet (for NJ veterans and their families) is a 24/7 helpline that features peer counseling for Veterans, members of the Air/Army National guard, and family members.
Vets4Warriors (for veterans worldwide) is a 24/7 peer support network committed to ensuring that all veterans, service members, their families, and caregivers always have access to a peer that provides support.
NJ Cop2Cop is a 24-hour helpline for New Jersey Law Enforcement Officers and their families with a focus on mental health support.
NJ Mom2Mom is a 24/7 peer support helpline service accessible to mothers and caregivers of children with special needs throughout the state.
NJ Care2Caregiver (caring for someone with Alzheimer’s Dimentia, etc.) provides free, ongoing peer support for caregivers.
CRISES AND SUICIDE
National Suicide Prevention Lifeline
IMAlive hosts a crisis hotline where the caller will have access to a caring crisis hotline volunteer. The call is free and confidential.
Girls & Boys Town National Hotline specializes in family reunification of runaways and homeless adolescents ages 11-17. Counseling over the phone and online are available.
